Drafting can be applied by engineers in making product designs and when they create instructions in manufacturing some parts. A draftsman or drafter is a term for persons who are experts in making technical drawings. Computer aided design will allow people to make 3D designs.

An engineer may optionally manufacture parts through technical drawings. And they will manufacture it by applying spray coatings or finishes if ever it cannot be handled by the machine alone. Drafting is being used in almost all subdisciplines and branches.
