Construction as a business needs so much high quality, large scale equipment. This is especially true when it comes to urbanization projects that include skyscrapers, bridges and so on. These machinery can range from back hoes to cranes to cement mixers. Whether you choose to buy them or rent them are a matter that should consider project budget and duration.

Part of building the foundation of something as big as a skyscraper involves a lot of ground work. Solid footing is a matter of safety and structural integrity. There are two ways of doing this and using a galvanized pile driver is one necessary equipment to get the job done properly. This is to make sure that the foundation is deep enough. For more residential and low floor structures, deep foundation procedures are not necessary.

The taller the building the deeper its footing needs to be. This ensures that the load is transferred on to the stronger subsoil than just retaining it on the loose top soil layer. This is when impact driven piles, caissons, hellical piles and earth stabilized columns come in.

There are many materials that can be used for the piles from steel, reinforced concrete, timber and pre stressed concrete. The basic structure for building footing involves a pile, cap, grade beam, then the wall. This distributes the weight that cannot be handled by the pole alone. The lighter parts are distributed onto the grade beams while heavier ones are directed onto the cap.

There are two methods in installing the piles. The first one is driving, and the second is boring. Since the focus is pile driving, this is what is going to be emphasized. There are also two ways that driving can be done. These are the driver pre cast and cast in situ. Choosing a method needs substantial study and research involving the construction site.

Choosing which way of installing the foundation has to be calculated depending on certain factors. These can range from the stratas, the supposed height of the building and the quality of soil. Suppose you were building a skyscraper in Dubai, where the soil is loose because it is sand. The piling method may be different.

A procedure needs to be undergone before there is approval for usage and pile driving that happens in the lot. This is approval coming from the engineer and needs some form of evaluation before the contractors can proceed. The driver is composed of parts and the engine that powers it can vary in efficiency. Using which hammer type also depends on the engineer in charge.

The power sources can range from purely mechanical physics like gravity used in the drop types to something as convoluted as vibratory and sonic powered types. There are also steam or air and diesel powered types. The effectiveness may vary depending on what kind is used. Among all the types, the drop hammer is the least efficient since it only involves the assistance of gravity.

This is one of those construction machinery that requires a good amount of study for its usage to be effective. While its basic principle is a lot like a hammer, there are greater complexities that surround it when brought in a more large scale setting. The pole is the nail that needs to be pushed into the surface while the driver is the hammer.
