Talking About Antique Car Storage

By Virginia Collins

We think that keeping a car locked up and stored away is as easy as that. Licking it up and then store it away. No, it may not be as complex as anything else, but there are still things to remember when doing so. There are things to take note just in case your car might get damaged during its storage process. That might be a little bit of a bummer when we finally decide to use it. So here is Antique Car Storage.

Those classic type of vehicles are not very practical. They are an investment. They are the type you want to keep in the most perfect condition as much as possible. That could mean storing your very own joy ride a little away if needed. Or if there is winter where you are.

We see you stuffing it up with a premium kind of gas. And keeping it full too. What is that you are adding in? Fuel Stabilizer? Why? To stop excess moisture. Good thinking. We do not want this automobile to rust as we store it. That would just suck. And this car is a beauty too. It would be a shame to let it do its rusting.

Then comes in the cleaning and refining the details. Whether it should be necessary or not, it does not matter. It stops and prevents any pests from touching your new vehicle. Waxing the exterior is also a nice point. Make something beautiful even more stunning. Grandpa would be proud.

Examples on how to clean that are these here. Insert baking soda in it so there will not be smells that come from it. Place steel wool on the exhaust so rats cannot get into it. Lubricate its doors as well as hinges. Wash those wheels. After, cover it in with a cloth.

Put your car on some jacks and fill its tires. It is very important to maintain your wheels in storage since they sometimes can be expensive to change. Fill those up to its max, according to your PSI at least. And if you do not plan on using your vehicle for a long while, put it on jacks, use one of those jack stands.

Remember to put some sort of plywood or any type of wood under your tires. When you put it into storage, the wheels will get ground rot. So to avoid that, apply those wooden surfaces below them to prevent any of that from happening.

If you plan to start your vehicle once in a while, get trickle charger or battery tender. It keeps it functioning over long periods of its time in keeping. Though, this will only work if you have some sort of power source where you will be putting it.

Now, all those chores are done. It is time to store it somewhere that will guarantee its condition and safety. Maybe a place that is clean. To match its cleanliness too. And a dark spot for it will do nicely as well. Try not to get any bright lighting on it.
