Island Hopping Bahamas: The Perfect Friend Fun Trip

By Betty Collins

Most people look for getaways that are life changing experiences as well as exciting and provide a bit of a thrill. A great way to experience this is through sailing and island hopping Bahamas. This can turn into an epic adventure whether you do this trip alone or with buddies.

Mental wellness is one of the greatest benefits to choosing this activity. It keeps you in a happy mood and keeps you calm due to the calmness of the water. The fresh air also keeps you feeling rejuvenated. It can also be a huge stress reliever to not have to worry about everyday problems. All that you see will be the open waters and the fresh air.

The one thing that all families and buddies need, is bonding. When you go on traditional holidays, it is easy to avoid facing what you need to because there are so many other things to do that result in you being more away from the people you came with, than with them. With sailing, you are forced to confront any problems you may have because you have nowhere else to go. It also means that all your time will be spent with the people on the boat.

There are plenty of reasons on why everyone should do this however, there are also a few cons which ultimately hold people back. One of the cons is the lack of space. As much as you will be forced to bond, some people require space and privacy to survive. Also, once a problem is solved there is no other reason to still be around people continuously. This may serve as a problem if you are going to sea for a long time but if it is for a short period, you should be fine.

When you stay at sea, it can become pretty dull, specifically when you plan to be away for a long time. Ensure that you bring along plenty of other activities that will keep you and your friends busy until the end of the trip. Perhaps plan for each person to bring something to do on each day where everyone can be involved.

Adding to the reservation of some people is the fact that being at sea means that you are easily controlled. When you are on land, you can make decisions easier and choose how your journey will be. At sea, it can become rough and you can easily lose your way. This is a loss of control. In this case, you may want to consider using an experienced guide so that they can assist in situations like this.

The most important thing to remember is that if you are going to be at sea for a long time or if you lose your way by mistake or due to nature, ensure that you have enough supplies of food and medication. This is a common mistake that people make which is how they become easily dehydrated and lose focus of how to get back in track.

Remember that a holiday is exactly that, a holiday. Whether you will choose to do it again or not, the experience will always be a reason for you to think back.
