The Information On Avionic Repairs Technician

By Kimberly Scott

Avionics is repairing and maintaining electronics in the aircraft. Avionic repairs technician is a person who is entitled with aircraft electronics alongside connection of the electrical system through wiring. They mainly deal with the connection of navigation instruments, installation of entertainment systems for passengers, radios, and autopilots, mounting of antennas and engine monitoring. Because they deal with the safety of the passengers and crew, they require a high level of work training and experience.

Electronic devices that are on board are not supposed to be tampered with. Therefore, they make sure that all electronic equipment is in proper working conditions. They do this by ensuring that some of the avionic specialists in the helicopter solve arising problems and put aircraft devices in place. Bench avionics correct the faulty devices that are removed and taken to their shops by an avionic technician.

To provide good service in the aircraft, avionic experts should have abilities such as excellent skills in diagnosis and correction of aircraft faults, ability to operate on and using the complicated and highly sensitive equipment. The technicians remove those parts that have stopped working and take them to shops where bench technicians correct them. Bench technicians have hands that are firm and outstanding vision abilities for their good performance. While working with present circuit boards, instruments for magnification such as binocular magnifiers or microscopes are required since they are composed of so many and small-sized integrated circuits.

Avionics technicians who have long term experience and deep knowledge of commercial aircraft are known as system troubleshooters. They can know the interaction and counteraction between the system components. It is through them that line avionics can identify hard problems accurately. Troubleshooters are always on the move since there is time limit because the aircraft is always supposed to fly again after a short period.

As far as the safety of the passengers is okay, these technicians can work on those items that are time-consuming at night. Activities such as updating aircraft software, repair and changing of black boxes are attended to by avionic technicians as listed in an aircraft log book by the pilots. The duties ought to be carried out effectively to ensure operation is not delayed.

Line technicians do not enjoy time luxury, unlike hanger avionics technicians who operate with aid of scheduled plan. Planes can stay on hangers for many days. A planner identifies aircraft records and its manufacturer new information. A team and operation time for each task are assigned. Delays caused by arising problems can be tackled in time by the working team.

Bench technicians working rooms are supposed to have maximum light, air and should be clean. They should have equipment for keeping them at low temperatures as they carry out their daily procedures. Aircraft devices have conditions for their operation according to their manufacturers.

Furniture found in the office, floors, and benches of the bench technicians are made in a way that they can dissolve static electricity. Highly sensitive aircraft equipment is tested by use of screen rooms that prevent electromagnetic interference and are also able to protect the surrounding environment against strong radio transmitters
